I-130 for father- request for evidence

Hi All,

I submitted I-130 and I-485 for both my parents to sponsor their GC. I attached my birth certificate to both their applications.

However, for my father's case, today I received

"Request for initial evidence (I-485)"

In there it says

D. (2) Submit a copy of the birth certificate for the petitioner listed on form I-130

So, from what I understand, it is asking for my birth certificate which I already submitted. So I am confused.

1. Am I understanding this request correctly?
2. Shall I go ahead and resubmit my birth certificate?
3. On my birth certificate, here is the scenario.
My name: It only has my first name (when I was born)
Father's name: This has his full name
Mother's name: My mother's first name

Is there a possibility of any issues, since my and my mother's only first name is included in my birth certificate? (In India, it is assumed that my father's name is appended to our first names to get our full names)

However this is the same birth certificate I used for my green card as well as citizenship.

Any insight, suggestions are most appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Is the RFE for I130 or I485? It is not clear from your post. In title you are saying I130 and in text of message I485.

With father's I130 in addition to your BC, you have to submit your parents' marriage cert also which you probably did. Sometimes USCIS makes mistakes and asks for docs which were already submitted. You definitely want to resend copy of your BC if that's what is asked for.

I do not think it is an issue with having only your and mother's first name on BC. My BC is also the same way and it was fine.

Hi visaapplicant,

Thank you for your reply.

Actually I am confused too. That is how the RFE is. In the title it says I-485 while in what is needed, it says BC of I-130 petitioner.

I had also sent my parent's marriage certificate. I am about to send all those documents again now. I was waiting to see if my mother's application gets the similar RFE.

However today, we got FP appt letters for both of them. So do not know, if they later saw the BC i attached to my father's applicatipon. Anyway, Iwill resend it.

Thanks for your help,
