Once we send in all the documents with i-130 (marriage license, etc.), does the USCIS additional research such as contacting family members. We are afraid that they might contact parents or other family members to verify the marriage.

Thanks a lot

No, they dont talk to your family members, but they send one sheet of the G-325A to the US consulate in your country for verification of credentials and check if you have a criminal record.

Thanks

Thanks for the response. We were afraid they would contact family members and ask questions

i just wonder why you would be afarid :)

you don't have to answer it thou. I just wondered. :) :) good luck in your petition. I am on the similar path too.

I believe they called my mom (who doesn't live in U.S. and speaks NO English) the date before my AOS interview - I'm not sure if they're from USCIS but since my mom said it was the first time to receive such kinda calls, I believe they are. My mom's contact number is on my passport.

As my mom didn't understand what they're talking about, she hung up on them *LOL* TWICE  She then called my cell phone at 1am on my interview day, and checked to see if I got an accident or something.
