I-130 docs: Birth Certificate Wallet Size ok?

I'm about ready to send in my family based Green Card application and was wondering about what form of the my American wife's birth certificate I should send with the I-130. We have ordered a full-size South Carolina certified copy, but that's taking a long time, so I was wondering whether it would be ok to send in the wallet size card that she already has (since we'll be getting the new certified copy in the near future) or whether it would be better to wait for the one we ordered for the application. I guess the question boils down to whether there is a difference in status between the wallet sized cards and the 'full-size certified copy' (whatever exactly that means).

Thanks!

Wait for the long one! You'll probably get an RFE if you don't. My husband used to have that tiny BC, and even the post office refused to accept it for his passport application. Chances are, USCIS won't either. SO, I'd rather wait for the long one :)

Good luck!

My lawyer recommended the long form. We put in both, just for the hell of it. Be safe, don't be cute. "Sometimes", I must emphasize "sometimes", RFE could delay your case. Why not try to do it in one shot and get it over with the paperwork, instead of trying to play tags with USCIS via USPS? ;)

yes-defintitely wait for the long form-many people have gotten rfes for birth certificate. the difference is that the long certified form has both parents signatures on it along with the doctor signature and notes like weight, etc. the problem with those wallet cards is they are easily faked.
