Hi,

I recently applied for GC (I-130) for myself thru my spouse, she has a GC with her and I am on H1. I got a receipt from INS, but for some reason it came from California Service Center and not from Texas Service Center.
I stay in Georgia and I did send my application to Texas Service Center per the I-130 form?
What do I do?

Please advise

Don't worry too much about receiving NOA's and receipt notices from
CSS ( California Service Center) The Service Center is only where your case is intially processed or pre- processed,
Your case will be forwarded onto to your DO or District Office which will be . where you have your Interview close to your address of Record. You will get your Biometrics done at the ASC near your Address of record as well.

My wife and I reside in California we have received all of our NOA' and receipt notices from MSC ( Missouri Service Center) But our ASC Application Support Center where we had our biometircs done is here in CA. our DO or District office is Los Angeles. thats where the interview will take place.

If you look at your receipt number the first 3 letters ( MSC.CSS) will designate which service center handles your case initially prior to sending it on to your District office ( near your home of record)

Hi,

So is it so that My case will now be taken care at CA service center and not Texas. If I see processing dates, CA dates are much better than TX. Then is it so that my case will now be taken care per CA processing center dates?

Thanks

I did not apply for I-485 now since we apply for I-485 only when my visa for I-130 Appln becomes current. Am I right?
