I-129 form question

Hi there,

I am planning to renew my TN the second time by mail. If my employer has filed I-140 for me, how do I answer this question "Have you ever filed an immigrant petition for any person in this petition?". I guess I have to say "Yes". The trouble is if "Yes - explain on a separate paper". How do I explain it? Anyone has a sample to shed some light please?

The Service centers are under orders NOT to deny TN's simply when an I-140 has been filed.

So, the answer is YES, and the explanation would be "I-140 has been filed: ABC-#######"

This will not pose a problem.

You should know and retain your I-140 receipt number. That way you will be able to track its progress thru USCIS.gov

I will be in the same situation soon. My I-140 will be filled at the end of this month and my TN due in october 2007.

Its pretty old. murthy talks about it. Ignore the gloom and doom about the difficulty. It is very common.
