I am about to renew my first TN by male. I am working on the I -129 and have some questions:

Part 2:
2. Basis for Classification. In my case (first time TN renew), should I choose a. (New employment)? If not, which one is proper for me?

Thanks

hmmmm....

I am probably going to get flamed by my response, but I am really curious, is finding which option below applies to your situation that hard?? :confused:

If it's a new (different) employer then answer 1.

If it's the same employer then answer 2.

I understand it. But if I choose 2 (b)(with same employer), what's the answer for the next question?
3. if you cheked box 2b/c/d/e, give the petition receipt number??? what the hell is it? This is my first time TN renewal??? where is the petition receipt number from???

There really is no petition number - but they don't tell you that in their directions from TN extensions/renewals. I know where you are coming from. There is a huge literacy problem at CIS.

I just checked my previous TN mail-in renewals prepared by the company lawyer and the responses were:

Q2 = "b"

Q3 = "N/A - TN application approved at port of entry"

Q4 = "N/A - TN application approved at port of entry"

I am assuming you got your TN @ the border, then if so, just respond as I have mentioned above.

I hope this helps.:D
