Do I-485's ever get approved without much in the way of checks being done (apart from FP and background check I suppose)?
For example, I-140's are often approved even if someone is unemployed or has moved to a different company as long as no RFE is generated (and sometimes even then).
Are the checks much more stringent at the I-485 level or could someone possibly be approved even if they are, say, unemployed / employed at a totally different job than the one for which the I-140 was done?
Presumably, even if the I-485 is approved though, there could be some issues later on if the USCIS follows up on the case (which I'm assuming is how they catch fraud cases where the employee never works for the sponsoring employer)?
Just curious...
