Husband's last name is added into my last name

Hi,

I am married but I never change my last name to my husband's name. Instead, I use my last name in all my documents(including passport & birth certificate & PK3 inforamtion). However, NVC adds my husband's last name into my name when they file my application into their system. I contact with them at that time and the reply is that it is just only their normal process to add the husband's last name into my name.
Now, my case is forward to the consular and my case name is shown as the name in NVC(with my husban'ds last name). I email to the consular to ask the following questions and they didn't reply all my questions. The only reply I got is that they cannot change the information entered by NVC.
Will it affect my interview since the case name is different from all my documents? What is the name that would be shown in my green card?
Does anyone have the same experience? How can I do to correct that? Any suggestion is appreciated! Thanks.

Ruth

Hello Ruth,

I think it is their normal procedure. You will not have any problems at the interview..... But your GC will have the name having your husbands last name. I dont see why this is a problem for you.

In my case, my wife's name was same before and after marriage. So they added my name as her middle name and this was printed on the card.

GoodLuck,

Thank you for response

Hi, dear dineshgk,

Thank you for the reply. It is a great relief to know that it will not cause the problem in the interview.
I have no problem if they add my husband's name into the card. My concern is that all my documents are shown my name without my husband's name and I don't know would it cause the problem in the future since the name is kind of different. I ask my laywer today and she suggests me to change the name after I get the green card. I'll think about that. Thanks.

Hi dineshgk & Ruth,

You told that they will add husband's name as middle name in the green card. Do you mean the total name of the husband or only the last name of the husband.
In any case, is it not a problem if they issue the green card by including husband's name?? what I mean to say is, from then onwards her name is different in her green card when compared to all other documents(i.e passport, Driver's license etc, to mention few).
Thanks in advance for clarifying it.

As mentioned by Ruth's lawyer... you can have the name changed back once you get the Card. But you need to analyze if you need this or not....
