The Japanese PM was being trained to speak a words in English, before his scheduled trip to Washington DC.
The official translators in Tokyo training the PM said – “When you meet with the President, give him a handshake, smile and ask him “How are you?” The President will then say – “I am fine” and then you must reply “Good, Me too” and then we will carry the rest of the conversation.”
The PM was excited.
A few days later, the PM met the President at the White House and immediately, went up to him. With bubbling excitement, he accidentally remarked “Who are you?”
The President was a little shaken but then regained his composure and laughed saying “I am Bill, the husband of Hillary”
The Japanese PM replied – “Good, Me too”
