A few minutes call from you can help shorten your GC wait by years !!

Please call the above members and spread the word amongst all your friends, relatives, colleagues and everyone who is affected by this immigration mess.

This week's televised debate showed how dirty delaying tactics can be played some members of the commitee. If that is not enough, here is what some anti-immigrant groups say about the bill:-

"This legislation is similar to the measure that Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) used before Summer recess to hijack debate on E-Verify reauthorization. The bill’s sponsor, Immigration Subcommittee Chairman Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif), claims it would 'recapture unused employer-sponsored visas' from as far back as 1991 and then add them to the current numerical cap of 140,000 employer-sponsored visas that are available each year. Current law, however, clearly states that any employer-sponsored visas not used in one year are allocated to the family-preference categories in the following year. That means that there are no “unused” visas from past years to 'recapture.'

Moreover, these extra green cards would be for foreign workers to take engineering jobs, health care jobs, construction jobs, manufacturing jobs and just about every other job that Americans have been losing in this economy. In order to qualify, a foreign worker doesn't need more than 2 years of on-the-job training – and they aren't even required to have a high school diploma. Our country doesn't need these workers - our workers need these jobs!"

See how much misinformation these groups are spreading. SO PLEASE FRIENDS, START MAKING THE CALLS FROM TODAY. SPREAD THE WORD, LET US HELP GET THIS BILL PASSED.

Just called and left a voice mail in support of HR 5882. I will call again in the daytime so I can speak to a live representative.
I hope this anti-immigrant groups doesn't mess it up.

Is there a particular format in which the caller has to indicate support of these bills or just say, "I support these bills", and indicate bill #s?

Thank you Mesan. Good job. Spread the word.

JohnThomas82, there is no specific format. You simply need to say that you support HR 5882 - Recapture of Visa numbers. This bill will help millions of legal, tax-paying and law abiding immigrants who have been working here for many years.

Thanks DesiVidesi. I called up Congressman's office and conveyed my support for the bill. It just took less than a minute. The person at the front desk asked specifically whether I am supporting it or against it and of course, I said I support the bill.

To all prospective permanent residents -- please do the needful. It just takes 1 minute to call and remember, there are anti-immigration groups calling and expressing negative opinion regarding the bill. If we don't do this bare minimum, we will continue to remain in the same state for years to come.

My Senator supports HR-5882

Thanks for updating me on the HR-5882 Bill.

I mailed my Senator requesting support for this Bill, he replied saying he will support the bill as he sees merit in the same.
