Supporting this bill will help everyone stuck in the immigration mess. For once, let us all forget any differences, category, priority...LET US ALL CALL OUR REPRESENTATIVES BEFORE 10.00 AM EST TODAY AND SAY THAT YOU SUPPORT THIS BILL.

Anti-immigrant groups like NumbersUSA and racists like Lou Dobbs are bombarding everyone with false information stating that this bill will bring over 550,000 people into the US while the fact is that it will provide much needed green cards to LEGALS who have been paying taxes, social security, following the law and helping boost the US economy for years.

We legals, need to work together as one, call every senator possible to show your support to this bill and defeat the anti-immigrant groups who are doing all that they can to stop us from being part of the American dream !!

So, please friends, show your support !!

I'm not an IV member but for this one, I fully support all efforts by them and anyone else to get this bill passed.

You may need to enter your address to get the correct senator if your zip is split into different legislative districts. Find out your senator and contact him/her ASAP today to show your support for the bill.

Please call the senator's office by phone as time is of the essence.

Additional Phone instructions:-

(1) Call the congressman/woman office and request to speak with the aide who handles Legislative and Immigration matters.

2) If they are not available leave a Voice Message for them -

"I would like Representative "Representative Name" to support HR 5882 bill to recapture the green cards lost due to processing and bureaucratic delays. As you may already know that this is a bi-partisan bill with wide bi-partisan support in the house and will help improve American competitiveness & reduce the back logs associated with USCIS. This bill's non controversial measures will help the US to stay competitive with a highly educated and skilled work force and address family based backlogs also.

Everyone please call the Capitol switchboard number now and support the bill. Just 1/2 hour from now and our fate will be decided.

It will take just a few minutes of your time and will save years in the greencard process.
 
I heard the proceedings and HR 5882 did not come up yesterday. Can any one tell us when the next hearing will be.

There is some talk about it coming up on 24th of September. However there is no official news at any site.

Worse come to worse, it may come up after the elections. The delaying tactics by Steve King (R-Iowa) by bringing amendments to amendments to amendments on HR 6020 ensured that there was no time to discuss the most important bill HR 5882.

The bill will still be brought up someday and all of us need to work at gathering as much support for it as possible by calling up the representatives, spreading the word and clearing the misinformation that anti-immigrant groups are spreading about it.
