How Weird is this???

 I just received 4 emails from the USCIS. 2 each for me and my wife. It says:

"Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or to
Adjust Status

Current Status:

On January 16, 2003, the results of your fingerprint review for your I485
Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status were received,
and processing has resumed on your case. We will mail you a notice if further
action is needed, or when a decision is made. blah blah blah"

The sad part is, that this is the 1st LUD we've had since the apppointment for the 1st FP. That was in December 2002. Also, the status above talks about the FP results of the 1st FP. However, we just went for the 2nd FP in August 14, 2004. Will they wait 1 1/2 year to update that??

Can you believe this crap.

I was under the impression that you will only get email from USCIS, if there is an approval. This is the first time i heard that someone received email as his LUD has changed for fingerprinting results. Is there a possiblilty that they typed in the wrong message instead they wannna type approval notice.

Others please do confirm it.

nothing is fixed with INS.

check the online status. Did the online status mention anything after the 1st FP and before this email you got?

ok, here is what i've heard:

after the 2nd FP, there is always an LUD. However, sometimes the message in the online status will not change and keep showing the same message
from the 1st FP (happened to me among many others).
Rarely, the status will change to reflect the 2nd FP (happened to other in the list).

Now, after the 2nd FP's LUD, sometimes there are many LUDs before the approval and sometimes there is an LUD ONLY for approval.

I think what happened in your case is that the LUD somehow triggered an email, but since the status did not change and reflects the old FP, this is the email you got. You are not supposed to get emails for the LUDs other than the approvals or RFEs. However, in the website, they say that you "might" get an email even if there is no status change because of an LUD.

What can i say? nothing is set with BCICS. All is fuzzy..

Good luck though. From what the trend is, you should be getting approval within a month or so after 2nd FP.

FWIW, I got email (yesterday) when my LUD changed due to VSC receiving my FP results.

Guys,

I checked the online message after I received the email. It states the same crap that the email has. My online status has been the same since December 2002, when they sent me the notice for the 1st FP1. The message never changed, even after they sent me the notice for the 2nd FP in august 6, 2004, until today.

JBeeNY----> Your approval is likely to arrive shortly

Based on your dates ....I guess you will get your approval within a month or so.
good luck

Email notifications are sent only when there is a status/message change. What happened in your case is that your status had been "FP1 sent" for the past 2 years. After your 2nd FP was done, the message changed to "FP1 received", so you got emails because there was a status/message change. As I read the posts in this forum, this happened to a number of people -- status changed to "FP1 received" after FP2 was done.

Hope this cleares your doubts.

Thank you all for your response. Will keep you all posted once I hear, see or get something regarding my case. Thanks,
