As far my conversation with my attorney, this process is pretty simple.
If your 485 is approved now (before you include your new baby), then it is very simple. When you return with the baby before the baby turns age 2 he/she will automatically get green card (no application/no fp/ nothing nbeeded).
If the baby returns before 485 being approved, say travelling with her mom who is on H4, the baby will automatically get H4. No application needed. However if you use AP,I am not sure how it will work.
In essence, if the baby is under 2 years the process is very easy and friendly..

My son and my wife came to US this Febraury on H4 visas. Even though myself and my wife have APs but we choose not to use them (Visa is valid upto October 2003).
Now my son is on H4 visa and he is 6 months old now. Because we haven't got the FP notices yet and we don't know how long it will take to get our GC (RD/ND 02.11.2002). It concerns me because if the GC takes more than 18 months baby will become 2years old and I don't know how things will change.
Hope TSC will approve my case in less than 18 months and hope everybody before me will get their GCs asap.
