How to use EAD

Hi ,

I am currently employed full time using my 2nd H1 (first H1-B expired last year). I have also been maintaining an EAD due to pending 485.

If I want to work remotely for a part time job (software related) as a second job, how can I use my EAD?

Its clear that the part time employers won't file my H1 and obviously I will need to use my EAD for that. Once I use my EAD for this part-time job, do I need to switch to EAD for the permanent full-time job as well?

once you use your EAD your H1 becomes void. Use EAD to prove that you are work authorized when you file I-9.

Once you start using EAD (even at the second job) you are no longer on H1.
Therefore, the answer to your question is - Yes.

Use of EAD along with H1

Should I fill a new I-9 form with the current employer as well to switch to EAD from H1, because of the new part time job? Or does I-9 need to be filled only for the new employer?

yes, I-9 (showing EAD) at both places.
