How to start using EAD?

Hi folks,

I am on H4 and currently outside US. I had just received my EAD, already got a job in US and am wondering how I can start using the EAD to work? I heard about the I-9 form to be kept by HR, is that it?

Also, can my employment start date on company\'s record be prior to the date I return to US? Does this invalidate my H4 when I enter US soil?

I-9 is pretty much it...

I also hope that you have your AP to enter US. If you use AP then you can ask your employer to register you on EAD.
But it will be easier to get in H4(if it is valid) and then start using EAD. Merely getting EAD or AP approved does not void H1/H4.
Did you get your Social security number, that is very much needed before starting to work...

I think that is what I am going to do, entering with H4 since I don\'t have my AP yet and make sure I am not \'registered\' on EAD before I enter US. I already have a SSN.

Depends on your personal preference and conditions. If you use one for travel or employment then you should start using the other for employment or travel from that moment on.
