Hi:
I will like to use AC-21, but I don't know the steps to get started. Do I just write a letter to the local office where where I-485 located? If not, could anyone please list the basic a few steps I need to follow? Thank you!
Joe

I guess you just mail the local office a letter as the sample shown at this site. Please advise. Thanks!

--- if your I-140 is approved AND I-485 is pending more than 180 days AND you have new permanent job offer in same/similar job duties as on approved LC then you are eligible foe AC21, what you need to do is :
1 get a letter from new Employer that list your job duties and state that the company XYZ has full time permanent job for you after I-485 approval. search for "sample AC21 letter" it has been posed in this thread
2if you are working with new employer and have 3-4 recent pay stubs then attach the copy of pay stubs(not Must for AC21 beter to attach so that they know you are working with new employer)
3 attach your I-485 reciept copy
4 on the cover letter write that your intent has changed and you have permanent job offer from XYZ comany and request that you want to use AC21

5 send all the above to your service center where your I-485 is pending with certified return reciept mail.
Do I just write a letter to the local office where where I-485 located?
----- if your I-485 has been transfred to Local USCIS office for Interview, better take AC21 letter at the time of Interview ( you can send earlier but they may not attach with file) if you send now then again at the time of Interview take the new employer letter to use AC21 at the time of interviewto be safe
If not, could anyone please list the basic a few steps I need to follow? Thank you!

Thank you Ginuu for your very nice explaination. I really appreciate it very much.

My case is in a local office now. I guess I just mail the AC 21 letter to the local office. Is AC-21 a risky move? My I-140 was approved and I-485 pending over 180 days. Thanks for any input.

mail the AC21 letter+I-485 reciept notice and write on cover letter that your file got transfred on XYZ date to Local office for Interview please attach the new employer letter with the I-485 file, mail it with certified return reciept.
Also take the same letter (with SAME content)with RECENT date when you go for interview ( becase they may not attach the letter to your file)

Thank you ginnu. I am going to write to the service center as the way you instructed. Also, I will bring the same items mailed to the local office by the time for interview. Thank you very much for your helps. More than 300 people read your this conversation here. You helped me while helped many others. Thanks a lot!
