How to inquire I-485 status

Is there a form (G something) to inquire I-485 status?
Some people posted they have inquired the status. Is it
over the phone? or file some form.

the form G-28 is used by an attorney to inform CIS that they are representing you (If you already have an attorney then i'm sure they must have sent this form to CIS when you I-485 was filed). Based on that, an attorney can make an inquiry on your behalf either by fax or by email. You can always make an inquiry by yourself and you don't need any G-28 form to do that.
