How to get W2 if it\'s lost

I\'ve got an RFE. Though I\'m not sure what it is, I just want to keep some general docs ready. I find that my W-2 for 99 is missing. How can I get it?
Does IRS provide that. If old employer is unable to provide it where to go for that?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

also got RFE last week.

I got RFE for the 3 things

1. copies of W2 (not the tax return form, just W-2)
   for the last 3 years (1998,1999 and 2000)
2. copies of paystubs for the last 4 payperiods
3. recent employment verification letter

Your company should be able to give you copies of W2\'s. Check with your HR first.

I know a friend who had also lost W2. Our company was able to provide a copy.
