How to get Tax returns?

Can we get the tax returns for previous years at the local IRS office? How quickly can we get it?

Obtain the 800 number for the local IRS office from the www.irs.gov website. They can mail you a copy of your tax returns---usually takes 3-4 business days.

Even you can get right away in local irs office . you have to take photo id ,ssn card to get tax transcripts.

The message says it would take upto 60 days

I got them in 3-4 days

I called the 800 number for Pennsylvania, talked to person who answered the phone....requested that I need my tax returns for years 1999, 2000 ...she printed them out when I was still on phone, stacked them in a envelope...told me that they will be mailed out the same day. I received a copy of my tax returns with in 3 business days via regular mail.

Thanks for the information. Did you get the transcript or the photocopy? I believe transcript is fast but is that sufficient for purposes of RFE?

Transcript should be fine

As per the attorney(very reputed firm) who filed my case, a transcript should be fine.

yes you can

call irs office and ask for near irs office. visit them they will give your tax return immidately.

Do you only need Federal Returns ?

Or State Returns are needed too ?

You can get your tax returns from local office same day when you visit them. I just got mine
