How to get spouse's I-485 reopened after appeal successful?

My I-140 (NIW) and I-485 was initially denied last September, but I was successful in appealing, and both my cases were reopened automatically.

However, they never reopened my spouse's derivative I-485. We have called USCIS twice. I never seemed to speak to anyone who really understood the issue.

They finally sent out a notice telling us my spouse's I-485 was still denied.

Any ideas on what I need to do to get it reopened properly?

Thanks

in my case, it was after my 485 approval.

the way my attorney explained it to me, they don't normally want to open derivative's case unless the primary can be approved. I was approved a week after my case was reopened but it took 2 months more for my spouse's case to be re-opened.

One thing, I would be to make sure your spouse doesn't accumulate illegal presence beyond 6 months.

Did you speak to some one in the service center where your cases are or to customer service reps at national support center? You need to talk to the service center.

My wife's case got reopened yesterday. I had to call USCIS about 4 times. First they said they will send the info to the concerned officer. Second time, after 15 days, they said file has been requested. After few days, the file had reached the officer and was told case will be reopened shortly. Next time same thing again and after few days case got reopened.
I did not get any help from my attorney and was planning to contact congressman, but fortunately didn't need that.

Let me know if you need more info, I will be glad to help.
