How to get PCC from Wash DC Ind Embassy ? and my India address got changed.

Hi,

My friend is staying in North Carolina and his employer is in Michigan. His Service center is Nebraska Service Center(NSC), and Chennai is his consulate. He got I-140 cleared.
He has 2 questions.

1. How to get PCC from Washinton DC Indian Embassy ?
Is it must to visit them personally? How much they charge ?
Is it safe to mail them passports ? How much time it takes ?

2. He has Indian passport with one Indian address. Now, that address is changed, because his parents moved to other Indian address. then, PCC should have which address? Older one or newer one ? While filing for PCC, he should give which address to Indian Embasy ?

First check whether the state of North Carolina falls under DC
embassy jurisdiction.

1. Fill out the Miscellaneous Services form for PCC.

2. 3 copies of personal particulars proforma, with photos.

3. About the fee, go to the Embassy website, and find out.
For San Francisco Consulate the fee was $ 20.00.

It is not necessary to go personally. It will be your decision.
You can , if you want ,apply by mail, with a copy of your passport.
Once it is ready for issue the Embassy will call you and let you know. At that time, they need to have your passport, because they will put a stamp in it.

Whether at that point, you send the passport by mail, or go there personally is again your choice. About mail safety, your guess is as good as mine.

The current address should be mentioned in the application.

This service is time bound, normally they issue the PCC in 35 to 40 days, unless some adverse info. comes back from India.

Raju, can you please tell me what you mean by "personal particulars proforma" Is this a separate form other than the miscellaneous form for PCC.

Yes, it is. You will find it on the Embassy website, and you can download. You have to fill 3 forms. I have responded to your PM also.
