How to get in touch with a sanator? What is the process?

I found the sanotor serving my state, NJ. I heard on this board before I should call the sanators office and contact the immigration staff. I also heard before on this board there is a templete people using to wrote to sanator. Is anyone knows details? Thanks.

Call him up and make an appointment. Have with you the latest INS notice, a cover letter "what you like him to do for you and why, also another sheet analyzing the cause of cover letter.
try to go there with another person who votes. When u said senator, needs to be at federal level not state
I went to most of them in NYC and i got some results. U need to follow up what ever you do.
