how to get I-140 receipt number

If your employer does not provide you with the receipt number for I-140, is there any other way you can find it out ? By using employers phone number as an input to the AVM system etc ?

hmm.. looks like everybody's stumped by this one. I have the receipt numbers for my EAD, AP and 485 but not for 140, so I am trying to figure it out ...

U do not have the contact to the attorney? Why does the emp. not give out the 140 rct. no.? Have U considered asking them!

--- I do have the contacts for the attorney

-- I-140 is an employer's filing. It is not a beneficiary filing unlike EAD, AP or I-485

I'm not sure, however, I remember a post in this forum indicated that the receipt number would be on the back of the cleared check issued to USCIS.
