How to get an Immigration Officer on the line?

So. I am getting too impatient, I want to speak to an IO through the USCIS costumer service.

I know many of you have succeeded and I did speak with a representative yesterday (after like 30 minutes trying).

So how do you do it exactly? what key do you press and what do you ask?

I asked to speak with an IO at the Atlanta Office and they said they did not have a phone number for them and that they could not transfer me :p... I already made an infopass for next friday. But I just really want to know what is going on.

Oh man, you ARE impatient. ;) :D

I'm trying to keep my cool here. As I said, I will give them a month and then start acting. However, if you find out something in the meantime, let me know... :D

I'm kinda hoping that the ATL DO is just heavily backed up at this moment. I didn't notice that, but my wife said that our IO had a crapload of applications on his desk. Based on my your situation, wtnginatl's, and mine, I think that we shouldn't worry too much. I don't know how happyresident managed to get them to respond so quickly, but I'd like to think that her case is atypical, rather than ours. ;)

Cheers!

I have the same situation. I need the EAD before August 21st, which seems impossible.

But if I receive it by August 31st, that would be fine with me.

I went to the infopass once, and I am thinking about going another time.

No clue if they can do anything about it.

What about everybody else in the EAD queue in front of you? Must they wait longer to seek employment just because you've all been rather proactive at job hunting?

yeah I know there's a line, but there are exceptions and different situations. Some people do not need to work right away and others need to pay bills and in my case u got a job offer that I do not want to miss.

Anyone has got an idea?
