How to get an experience letter notarized?

I read from this forum that I can get an experience letter for I-140 from a colleague of the former company even if he/she no longer works for that company. Most people suggested that the letter be on the colleague's current company letterhead and get notarized.

My question is how I can get such a letter notarized. I just received such a letter from one of my former colleagues and want to get it notarized.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

Notarized letter

You can't notarize the signature on the letter. That can only be done when it is signed. However, you can have a notary make a copy and notarize that it is a true copy.

Thanks for the response.

If I take an experience letter from my co-worker, and USCIS requires that the letter be notarized, what kind of notarization needs to be done? the notarization of signature or the notarization of a true copy?

Another question is when you submit experience letters with I-140, do you submit the original or photocopy?

Please help.
