How to find out if interview date change req. has been accepted?

Hi All.
My in- laws have an appt at the US consulate, chennai for getting visitor visas. As we needed an earlier appt date, we made a request. We got a reply asking for 1st & last pages of PP to be faxed to a number in Bangalore.

After that, how can we know if the request was accepted and if the interview date has been changed?
Will they be sending an email to the id we gave during fixing the appt?
