Hi Gurus, Need your help.

Can someone tell me how can I delay my I-485 processing/approval.
Actually I am getting married in Feb and somehow want to make sure that my I-485 doesn't get approved before that.

Is there a way to trigger an RFE on my case for example by changing employer, lawyer or address etc ?

I understand that for EB3, my PD is not current but can I assume that USCIS will definitely not approve my case ?

Do I have an option of switching from I-485 to CP ? What are the implications..

Please help..

Thanks

------------------ your I-485 will NOT be approved till your PD is not current, if you go for CP then also your case will not be approved till your PD is current, PD in EB3 are only expected to move after APRIL 2005(not official info)
Please help..

Thanks

this persons case must been approved before 12/31/04. I believe it takes
a while for some paper work/signatures before approval can be seen online.

Practically speaking, you should try to speed up your registration to obtain a marriage license as soon as possible. Why take a risk to wait till Febuary?

Get registered now ( which means that you will have a legal paper proving your marriage) and file 485 for your future spouse as soon as possible. You still do all required ceremonies as planned in Febuary.

I assume your fiance(e) is here in US ( sorry i missed that part)

With USCIS, I won't take a chance. You never know.

Thanks a lot guys,

My fiance is in India. I am trying to find a way to get the certificate but its also not easy.. Meanwhile what about other options like somehow delaying the process or changing to CP.

Also, Can I withdraw my I-485 application and start again once My wife is here ?

All your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

---it can be done if your parents and her parents wish, if you both dont care about parents it can be done easily, in what state of India is your would be wife staying??? do you have your residence in same city or state??

Meanwhile what about other options like somehow delaying the process or changing to CP.
------ you can do that, remember with CP no Appeal
Also, Can I withdraw my I-485 application
----- you can withdraw but the next time you file your case will be transfred to local USCIS for Interview and they will think why this person withdraw the I-485. Dont withdraw the pending I-485.
and start again once My wife is here ?

All your help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
