how to delay 485?

guys, is there any way you can request INS to delay your I-485 procesing?

I expect my 485 to be approved in 3/4 months. So, I am going back to india to get married. But she is stil doing her studies in india and cannot move to US before graduation (that will be June).

So, what are my options?
 
There is no way to request delay of I-485 processing. You can defer finger-printing couple of times to buy some time.

Anyway, INS is doing you a favor. They are not going to approve 485 cases in near future. All these security checks and other bs will take months before they approve start 485 again. And if the war with Iraq starts, INS may never approve 485 cases.
 
It is better you bring your wife over here
before you give your finger prints. ONce
you give your finger pritnts. you don't have
any control. It could get approved any time.

Once your 485 gets approved, bringing
your wife becomes hell.

You have to go thorough a process called
Follow to join. which is very hecktic.

I'd be surprised if they approve without asking for RFE or something. Once they ask for RFe, you can delay for 90 days before responding, so I wouldn't worry about your approval coming too quickly (Most people on this board have the OPPOSITE problem) :-)
 
how to delay your 485?

.....it's really simple


just send your application to CSC.....that's it in a nutshell.

Consider it delayed for 1-2 years at the earliest.
 
Pin YOur hopes high enough for approval of ur 485 and u will see how easy it will be to delay ur approval. Trust INS they are really good in this.
 
I don't know where you got the news that your 485 is going to be approved inside the next month. But according to current statistics you will be lucky to get it before your kids come of age! :)
