How to confirm the address change with BCIS?

I moved to new place recently (same city). 2 weeks back attorney faxed the new address to BCIS to update my pending I-485 application. They did not send any conformation yet now. Today I called National service center (1-800-375-5283) to find out whether their records got updated or not.

Some rep. told me that they can’t access my personal information and my attorney needs to wait for 30 days to receive conformation. Is it true?

Yes, What IIO told you is right. They can not see your details in their computer. What they can do is they will collect your new address and request for the address change. You will receive address confirmation to your new address within 30 days. I did the same and got the confirmation to my new address. First i called and gave my new address and waited for more than 45 days..did not receive any confirmation and then again called and gave my new address..received the change of address confirmation within 2 weeks.

My lawyer did not invlove in this address change. It's just my experience.

Address Change:

I received a confirmation in the mail for the Change of address after 4 weeks.

This should happen automatically and no need for any inquiry from your attorney. This is my personal experience.
