How to change last name change of mother in passport and visa documents?

All,

I am in US on H1B visa.

Today I realized that my mother name in my passport and all my visa document is not correct. I am soon applying for my GC and for that, I applied my birth certificate and then I realised that my mother name is not correct in my passport and I filled the same info in all my visa docs.

The problem now is that my mother's name is:

Name in my passport and visa docs: Meena Sharma
Actual Name of my mother: Meena Kumari


Could anyone suggest how to get the last name corrected in passport and my visa (H1B) documents?

Is it possible to keep a notorized document that my mother's last name is Kumari and dont need to get it changed in passport and visa docs?

Please advice.

Thanks for posting your query.
Today, I also checked on my passport and birth certificate and my mother's name is different.
I would appreciate, if have already got the answer and share with me.

When I found this ..then I called immediately my company legal staff...and as per them...I no need to worry much about this ....I just need to prepare one affedevit and get it notarized and attach with the papers..
