How to change CP to AOS? Please help.

Hi, everyone: My I140 got approval two weeks ago from VSC. In the approval note, it says the petition had been sent to NVC (National Visa Center) for Consular Processing. Originally, in my I140 petition, my lawyer didn\'t ask for CP. I would like to do adjustment of status within the US. What should I or my lawyer do now? My lawyer doesn\'t have sayings on this issue, should I remind him of this issue? How long I have to wait before I call NVC?
If you had same experience, please advise. Thank you.
 
Just file I485.

Have seen many postings on this board where people with I140 approval as CP, have gone ahead and filed I485. At worst, it might delay I485 approval by month or two, the time needed to get back your file from NVC. Check more with others/lawyer.

Just make sure, in your opinion, my lawyer can file I485 right away? I would like to hear a positive answer. Thank again.
