how to cancel I-539 i just mailed yesterday

I sent I-539 yesterday to extend my parents stay in USA.
But now they are no longer need to extend their stay. What should I do to stop it from being process since the application might not even arrived to the service center?
Shall I just cancel the personal check I sent along with the application? Will i violate the law if i cancel the check?
What will be the other way to do it ?
 
I need some help from you guys, when you file for extension, we should pay the fees for each applicant or only for the primary applicant, I want to extend stay for my parents.

You can stop the cheque. Nothing illegal in that. Just make sure your folks fly out before their I-94 expires.
