How to bring my (Indian) spouse to the USA, while I am on Green Card status *

Hello EveryOne,

I have received my Green Card two years back and now I am planning on marrying a person from India. My question is, what is the fastest way to bring my spouse to the United States to join with me. I come to know that, it may take 4 to 5 years to get her the green card, if I sponsor her Green Card by being on Green Card.

Could you please let me know the best way to approach this situation and I would really appreciate your suggestions or thoughts on my situation or similar situations that you are aware of.

there is H4 for H1, J2 for J1, or F2 for F1.... I am wondering if there is a similar mechanism for the spouse of GC holder.

I wouldn't call that a "similar" mechanism. For it to be similar there would have to be no quota restrictions that can lead to multiyear wait times. H4, F2, L2 have no quota restrictions, whereas FB2 does.

These categories not not numerically limited. However processing immigrant visas for spouses and minor children does take 6 to 12 months.
