How to ask INS to resend the original fingerprinting notice

I am in a unique situation, a finger prnting notice was sent on Jan2nd 2001, which I never received and I kept waiting till last week when I called INS and found out that the notice was sent on Jan 2nd and that it was un-delivered. I asked my attorney if he received it which he denies. Is there any way by which I can do the finger printing as there is still one more month time left according to immigration officer to do my finger printing. I want a way to get a copy of the original notice or some way to convince the finger printing office to do my finger printing with out the notice? any thoughts

Call INS. Tell them that you have not received the notice. Ask them to send another one and send you a copy.
 
Time limit

Is there a time limit within which the FP must be completed after the notice is issued by the INS. Does losing the initial FP notice affect the GC processing in any way? Is the AVM updated once a FP notice has been issued?
