how to apply for H1 transfer if previous approval notice is not sent by employer

My current approval notice has not been sent by employer to me. And my work with them finished recently. Is it their obligation to send the notice to me and if not, how do I obtain it from INS directly? Do I have to use that original or copy of notice in my new H1 transfer petition or just mentioning the EAC number is enough? Pls help

You need a copy (since you might have writen down the wrong EAC number). Ask your new attorney to talk to the old attorney if you are not in talking terms with your old employer. Generally they should give you at least a copy of that approval (No Law though...)
