How soon after green card interview can my parents travel to India ?

I filed for my parents greencard and they have their interview date set for 26th Jan. I'm hoping it goes well and their green card gets approved. If everything goes well how soon can they travel to India ? Do they have to wait for the physical green card before they can travel ?

well things are going really fast, so if everything goes well they might have their GC in hands 15 days after the interview all depending on your state/city, maybe less; I also have my interview on the 26th and my parents have it on the 14th

If you can prove there is a need the interview officer might be able to stamp their passport and that would be considered a temp GC for travel purposes. However, again it is up to the interview officer.

They rarely stamp I-551 these days (but not out of question). Once you get the physical GC you can travel (if you dont have the I-551 stamp).

If they get an I-551 stamp then no. How long the leaving for?

Do they have to wait for the physical green card before they can travel ?
