How not to lose my Green Card?

My dear friends,

I will have my Green Card this coming August after i succesfully do my landing?
The Green Card is very important for me, and i don't want to lose this opportunity, i am currently working in the GCC with a very good package and don't want to lose it also for the time being.

I want to rent a flat in USA for a whole year, and i want to come to USA every 4-5 months to stay for two weeks. By this, will i lose my GC status?
Is this a good approach to not lose my GC afrer i receive it?

Any other ideas to help me?

GCC = gulf cooperation council I think, so the gulf countries.

If you plan to defer moving to the US fully for only a year, that would work. To strengthen your ties to the us, after you land, you can apply for a re entry permit too, and if its not too much trouble, open a bank account, get a driver license, etc.
