How much time for AOS from b1/b2 to H1B after approval?

Hello all,

I wanted to know how much time does Adjustment of status (AOS) take from B1/B2 to approved H1b?? Its Non -Cap H1b I'm talking about for physicians to pursue residency training..

Is it (AOS) automatically done once H1B is approved or do I have to file for AOS separately after approval?

And can I start my residency once H1 B is approved ??or need to wait for the actual AOS to happen??

Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on how H1 was filed.
If it was with COS, COS happens with H1 approval.
If it wasn't with COS, you have to file COS later.

YOu can start working on the H1 start date on the approval notice.
