How much time does it take?

If a person is being deported to India due to a conviction for aggravated felony, how much time does it take from the point he enters ICE custody till he is placed on a flight. Assuming he has a valid and unexpired passport, birth certificate, all his study certificates from India and waives his right to fight deportation.

I heard that the entire deportation process to India takes atleast 2-3months. Is it true. If it is so what can be done to make the deportation quicker. And he can afford to take a flight ticket on his own.
I heard that people are deported to Mexico very quickly ( even in one day, but average is only one week). Why does it take 2-3 months to India. I really can't understand.
Any one please help me.

Thanks for reminding me that there is no express bus to India.
But if one is able to afford to buy a express flight ticket to India, then why to take so long as 2 to 3 months.
What is the problem to allow a person take his own flight ticket if he can afford, and make things quicker. Also the money of the taxpayers is saved.

Why doesn't that person who is illegally present, out of status, or for whatever reason is deportable... then take that plane himself and leave before he is put in removal proceedings?

IDK the answer to your questions... but nobody prevents anybody from leaving at their own accord... but once you are put in a bureaucratic, government run program... then you have be subject to all of its flaws.

If he isn't a LPR, was ispected when he entered the USA, he can sign for his deportation "Stip Deport" and that will take about 7-10 days to process. Once ordered deported, India will require 10-days notice he is returning. It can takes months, but that normally involves someone not having a passport.
He can be returned on the 11th. day... If he is here illegally, they can do a Administrative deport on him, and save the 7-10 wait.

You just can not place some agg.felons on a plane as waive bye. Lets assume that his committed a sexual assault on a child, ICE would look really bad if he assault another child in a plane restroom on his way back to India.
That is why they escort some people all the way back to their homelands.

It all depends on how fast proper paper works are filed. I know a case where it took 14months for someone to be deported back to their country back in 1997. He was in jail the whole 14months.
