How much time between FP2 and approval?

Hey Guys & Gals,

How much time is NSC taking for approval after FP2? I know it varies a lot but what is the median?

If you look at the approvals in Oct from Rupnet, most cases took 1-2 months after FP2 though a few took 4-5 months.

Your opinions please.

looks like it is taking 2/3 months after FP2
I think it depends on your RD. My RD is Dec 23,2002 and had FP2 done on 8/19/04 but still waiting RFE/approval. Many cases with Oct/Nov had their FP2 done in Aug and approved after 1-2 mon.

getit's got a point. NSC seems to be picking 485s in batches and issuing FP notices. The last batch was Oct/Nov/Dec 2002 - so people with Oct 2002 RDs got their approvals faster (1-2 months after FP2) than Dec 2002 RDs (3-4 months).

If that is the case, Jan 2003 applicants should get approvals faster than Feb/Mar 2003...

Interesting.. Let us see how it plays out.. Though with NSC, I won't bet a "tootsie roll" on them following a consistent trend ;)

Count me

Hi:

My RD is August 2002 and FP2 is done in Oct. I am still waiting. As i know, My workmate whose RD is the same as mine finished her FP2 in April and is still waiting.

I didn't see any time rules between FP2 and final approval.
My understanding is that if you are lucky, you will get approval 4 - 6 weeks after your FP2. Otherwise, you will be stucky in another infinite loop.

Thanks

slightly tangential question/observation

I wonder if Name check may be an issue ?

Does the issuance of FP2 mean that the name check process is complete? I do not know but if it is taking some people only a few weeks after FP2 to get approval and others many months; then could it be the the ones with slower approvals are still stuck in name check process?

Just a thought...

I agree, a friend of mine told me that his co-worker got approval exactly 30 days after FP2 whereas there a number of them here, waiting for months, sometimes even a year after FP2. Sometimes there's RFE, sometimes not. So, it doesn't look like there is any defined process after FP2 - it's all random and definitely doesn't surprise me!

Hi All,

Please look at me case details , below FP2 done in Sep 2004, RD OCT2002. No moment at all in 485 case, but my 3rd EAD was approved. Not sure what is in the mind of USCIS officials.

God only knows.

NSC doesn't know if Januray comes before February, all they know is that they get paid at the beginning of each month.
