how much time between being in interview queue and getting letter

I called USCIS today and they said I am placed in interview queue as of 12/28/2008.

How much time do you think to get IL?

The length of time that you wait in queue for interview varies by DO. For instance, my application sat in queue for about 5 months, whereas applicants from certain other DOs only waited a couple of weeks. Check in the Newark thread to get a better idea.
