How much RFE at interview delays a case?

I had an RFE for the new medical (I-693) issued to me during AOS interview. I was told that everything was good and ready for approval pending the new I-693. I was instructed to send the new form directly to the local office where the interview took place.

I did the new exam immediately and sent the new completed form to the local office, and was delivered, according to USPS, on June 25. Since then there is no update in online status or anything. Did anybody have experience with RFE for the local office? How long does it take for them to process incoming documents? I am beginning to worry that they lost the letter with my response.

The RFE said that if they do not receive response by July 16, they are going to deny my petition. What should I do?

It's not a problem for me to wait for 90 days. I am just worried that they misplaced the new form I sent and my AOS will be denied on July 16.

My husband had a similar case, but this was back in 2003. He had his GC interview (petition from his Mom as an unmarried child), then the officer told him that the wrong doctor signed his medical exam. He went to the clinic that is in the USCIS list but for some reason, the doctor who signed it at the clinic is not a certified USCIS doctor (weird!). So he had to go back to the clinic and had a certified doc sign the form, then mailed to the USCIS. His interview was in May 2003, and he got his GC in August 2003. So yeah, about 90 days, as another poster here said.

Good luck!
