How much money we can carry from India to US

Hi Everyone
My parents are visiting me in US from India on visitor's visa. They are planning to visit multiple places in USA themselves. My question is how much money each of them can carry and what should be the best way of carrying money for them. I have seen some responses on internet mentioning up to $10,000/- without declaring. Is this limit combined for both of them or can they each carry up to $10,000/- without declaration.

Appreciate your suggestion/advice
 
Ask them to carry money in the form of traveler's cheques. Any amount greater than $10,000 has to be declared.
