How much money to bring?

Form IMM 0008 part B item 8 asks \'How much money will you bring with you?\'. No related information from the instruction I can find. Is there a minimal(for self, spouse and children) to match? or there is a \'best\' figure to fill? Thanks.
 
Yes, I know what the officer told me

The Canadian Immigration Officer told me to bring in at least the amount I declared on my application.
 
The requirement should be somewhere in the instruction for filling the forms.

I do not remember the exact amount. the minimum is like $12000 Canadian for principle applicant and $2000 for each additional applicant. You should be able to find that with the instructions etc.
 
US Bank Statements

Do I have to bring cash? or would it be enough to show the last 3 monthle statements from my US bank showing that I have that amount in my checking/saving accounts?

For landing purpose,

I brought several months of bank and other financial statements, but only showed the most recent bank (US) statement to the immigration officer.
