How many trips is considered too many?

This issue keeps coming up in the interviews but many trips is considered too many?

I know trips longer than six months break the continuous residency requirements but are there any other restrictions.

I don't think there is any rule/law that limits the number of trips you can take for citizenship purposes. They are mostly concerned about the length of each trip

I have wondered why they even bother asking that question on number of trips taken. Perhaps it is signal of how strong your ties are? For example a person that takes 60 10-day trips over the course of 5 years may be seen as having stronger ties than someone who takes 4 150 day trips even though the total time spent abroad is the same .

Too many excessively long trips are the only problem, and then too, not always. If you are out for 170 days, back in for 10, out for 170, back in for 10, out for 170, back in for 10, etc., then this could be construed as being fraud, and that you don't live here. However, if you have good reasons, and enough ties, this might not be a problem.
