Finger printing/Biometrics appointments for one I-485 application ?

Hello,

After initially filing I-485, I got FP appointment for photo, signature and 10 fingerprints.
Will I get another FP appointment notice ? When is it likely ?
How many times do you get fingerprinted for one I-485 application ?
Is there a validity date for FP ?

I dont think there is any special formula. It just happens when it happens.
I filed for 485 in June 07 and got my first fingerprint done in Aug 07. None after that.
You will receive a letter when they need to update yours.

They used to bring people in every 15 months for fingerprinting until their GC is approved. Apparently because they only keep the records for 15 months.

Now the general pattern is that you get fingerprinted once soon after filing I-485, then when they are about to approve your case you'll get fingerprinted once again if you last gave prints more than 15 months ago. No more routine fingerprinting every 15 months.

So if you already gave fingerprints at least once, and your priority date is current or becoming current next month when you get another fingerprint notice, you can expect there is a good chance (not a guarantee!) that your case will be approved within the next 1 or 2 months after fingerprinting, provided your PD remains current for the next couple of months.
