How many receipt notice should I get??

We sent I-130, I-485, I-131 (Advanced Parole) and I-765 (EAD) together to Chicago Lockbox and we live in Queens, NY. How many receipt notices should we expect and from what offices? Thanks in advance.
 
You should get four notice-of-reciept letters, for each of them. At least, that is the case for me. :)

I think we are in a similar situation
We mailed our package(I-485, I-693 I-130, I-765, I-131) June 12 vias UPS overnight and according to the tracking number it was received June 13 at 9:30am. We are waiting anxiously for our notices. Hopefully they get here soon!

i'm in ny too and sent my package on the same day as you..and they received it on june 14th....i haven't received anything either...have been anxiously checking the mailbox...well let me know if you get anything as you sent in the package on the same day as me. will add you to buddy list, if that's ok.
 
It appears that cateach, candyattitude and I are almost on the same boat. We should keep each others posted. candyattitude, I do not see any problem in you adding me to your buddy list. Good luck to both of you.
 
I, just now, went to the UPS store and overnight I-130, I-485 and I-765....

I guess I'm one week behind you guys.

I filed I-130, I-485, I-131 and I-765 on 06/16/06.

Do you have any idea how long it will take to get EAD? I was told it takes only 6 weeks...

If you look at the filing information of most people on this board, you will see that most people are getting them between 60-90 days if application is complete. But if they send an RFE or other things take place, it may take longer. Frankly speaking, I have not seen anyone yet who got EAD in 6 weeks.
 
Hubert, did all four of receipt notices come in one envelope or did you receive four different mails? Thanks.
 
The receipts from USCIS would normally come in separate envelopes for each of the applications - I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131. Never heard of all of them coming in the same envelope.
 
They are all in separated envelopes. It was interesting though. I recieved reciepts for I-130,131&765 pretty soon but I-485. After a week or so, I finally got my reciept for I-485. It is just the post office delay cause on the envelopes, they all have same mailing dates. :)
 
good news! The checks have been cashed. I suppose the receipts should be coming in the mail any day.
 
Thanks for keeping us posted cateach. I checked my bank after your post and all my checks have been cashed as well. My undetstanding is that they cash your check only when your application is accepted. Is that a valid assumtion??
 
Yeah, that is a good assumption I would say. But that doesn't mean you may not get any RFE's if necessary. The checks are cashed by a third party in Chicago after doing an initial verification of your application. They are forwarded to MSC from there. They will look over the application in detail when they get there. It takes approximately a week after your application getting to Chicago lockbox for it to be reviewed by MSC and your case is set up in the online system.
 
Thanks for your response. I understand that anyone can get an RFE at any point but I just wanted to make sure that cashing checks means that the applications are formally accepted.. Because I have heard some stories on this board where they had to send in their forms a few times before they got accepted. And I just wanted to make sure that I am not on that boat!!
 
I believe that if your checks are cashed, that means your application has been accepted. If you didn't get an NOA even after waiting for a few weeks, you can always request a copy of your check from your bank and write to the USCIS with that to find out about it. But for all intents and purposes, yeah, having your checks cashed means your application has been accepted and forwarded to MSC from Chicago lockbox. I believe that in the cases where the applications weren't accepted, they were sent back or they weren't expressly informed that the application wasn't accepted.
 
As you can see from my signature, we have received four receipt notices from MSC today. We could not have done this right without the help from everyone on this board. Thank you.

I guess I am not the only one a bit anxious about receipt notices.

I will jump in with my updates
6/17/06 -sent I-130, I-485, I-765 same Fedex envelope 1 check -not sure if that was proper? Check has been cashed :rolleyes:
6/19/06 receipt date for I-130 & I-765
6/26/06- :) received NOA/ Receipt notices for I-130, I-765 seperate envelopes
thinking "where WOW that was quick, now where is NOA for I-485 :confused:
