how many months should i request

I am applying for a visitor's visa for my mom and dad.My dad is 55 yrs old and is practicing as a lawyer in chennai.I would like to know if i can mention that i am inviting him to stay with us only for 2 months( because he cannot stay longer than that)
Will they give a visa only for 6 months validity or will they give a 10yr validity visa since i am mentioning only for 2 months.

2 months is appropriate time for a visit on visitor visa. I put 6 months for my parents in law and got rejected. I suspected this is the reason as they didn't look at any other paper work and changed to 2 months and reapplied in a month. They got now for 10 yrs visa. Hope this info helps.
