how many LUDs will happen after status inquiry?

Hello,

I called CIS and initiated a status inquiry about my 485. There has been no LUDs so far. Usually how many LUDs (if any) will happen after a status inquiry? Does inquiry help to speed up the process?

I've initiated status inquiry about I-485 on October, 2005. Reply was in December. Latest LUD=05/06/2005.

I initiated a enquiry with NSC on 29th June 2006 and I saw a LUD on my I485 on July 3rd 2006.
No message change though. I havent received any letter from them yet.
Someone said that status inquiry results in negative impact on the case.
Is this true?
Does anyone have any good/bad results after the enquiry?
