Count me in as well. Got a letter for SR opened in June, 2007 - saying that "background check still open". It did not mention whether it is FBI or internal! Ombudsman office sent a letter saying, if I did not hear in 45 days, get back to his office again.

Let's wait and try my luck patiently praying to God.

Hey guys,

Why didnt you all go for CP. I was in a similar situation like you all. PD Dec 2001. GOt stuck in labor till recently. But after that it was an exceptionally smooth sailing for me. Went for CP. Got GC within 5 months of I140 approval. I have the card in hand since June 07. Cp is straight forward and the NVC does a remarkable job of processing applications efficently. Look up on cptracker.com for the timelines of all those who went through CP. There is no security check by US officials in CP. It is done by your consulate who issues what is called a "police clearance certificate". Most of the Indian consulates do that in less than a month. I strongly recommend going for CP for everyone for whom retrogression is not a issue.

Believe or not, some employers don't sponsor CP. My company is one of them. When I was ready to file in Dec 2003, I wanted to choose CP, but my stupid company didn't allow me to take that route.

what is cp?

could you guys exlplain what cp is and how can we get our gc done through cp?
thanks in advance.

CP refers to Consular Processing. It is another route than I-485 after I-140 approved. You submit application and wait for notification to go back to your country for interview at a US consulate. It is reported (during 8/13 Ombudsman teleconference and other sources) that there is no Name Check delay for this route.

my colleague with EB3 sub, India with PD in 2001 got approval today.
There are so many folks with PD in 2001. Approvals are trickling in, so I am optimistic.
I have heard of EB3 India with PD in 2003 getting approvals as well.
